Founder & Executive Director
Monika Diaz is an entrepreneur, mentor, and advocate for empowerment through education. She is the owner of Phat Efx Hair Salon and the founder of Phat Efx Master Academy, a nonprofit organization focused on helping young women and underserved youth build careers in the beauty industry.
Growing up in a low-income Latino community without parental support, Monika overcame significant challenges to build her business entirely on her own. Her journey from hardship to entrepreneurship fuels her mission to uplift others.
Today she shares her story to inspire resilience, confidence, and independence, while teaching practical skills that help aspiring beauty professionals succeed. Through mentorship, education, and community outreach, Monika continues to create opportunities for those who may not otherwise have access to them.
